Aaron vs. the Tornado

from The AK EP by Josh Belville

/

lyrics

staring out across the plains
aaron saw it coming
foreshadowed by heavy rains
it kept the people running

smoking on his front porch
grim determination on his face
aaron snuffed out his cigarette
and went out there to take his place

rolled up sleeves, iron will
it kept moving; he stood still
white adidas standing ground
when that twister came around

he grabbed the mass of swirling air
and took it straight to the floor
and as they wrestled fair and square
old aaron let out a lion's roar

the tornado tried to pin him down
but aaron was a fighter
and as they grappled throughout the town
aaron kept on holding tighter

rolled up sleeves, iron will
it kept moving; he stood still
white adidas standing ground
when that twister came around

finally the thing was beat
a tiny wisp of tired wind
it died right there at aaron's feet
he had it pinned

the townsfolk held a big parade
to celebrate their newest hunk
but when they knocked on aaron's door
he was already drunk

rolled up sleeves, iron will
it kept moving; he stood still
white adidas standing ground
when that twister came around
